Scientific or voodoo?

I did dew tests with strange results which sounds like hunky doori numbers

I throw a large sandal up--> 52 mph !
I pointed it to a stationary object--> 111 mph !
I measured the air only in sky 50-70 mph range
I measured my son on monkey bar 1 mph !!

What is it really reading?!
Give me a brake.
